Strategy/Approach |
The approach of the project is to address the problem of the farming community in a very effective way. SYO has taken up the responsibility of awareness and execution of field work in the 30 villages of Atmakur & Geesukonda Mandals, resulting in increasing people participation and technically sound execution of physical works. There has been ample scope for experiment of different alternatives. More than 3000 farmers in all these villages have become aware of the organic farming and are practicing
All these farmers are brought onto one platform through establishing a Cooperative society named “Kakatiya Sendriya Rythula Paraspara Sahayaka Sahakara Utpathi & Marketing Sangam Ltd, registered under the 1995 Cooperative Societies Act.
Women were organized, sensitized and supported through strategic investment and also sensitized them on gender issues, organic farming and marketing etc., along with the men. Few single women were provided support for income generation activity through the MACS. They became part and parcel of the project activities right from the beginning in decision making, execution and other aspects of the project
SYO is playing a facilitator role and assisting the directors by providing support services.
Identification of beneficiaries for strategic investment support was done through the MACS, which was a successful effort, and repayment is very prompt. It is also planned to involve all the farmers in the MACS and to establish a corpus fund so that it could be helpful for the marketing activity |
