These activities are also carrying in rural areas too viz., surrounding villages of Atmakur and Geesugonda mandal head quarters of Warangal district. During these camps we have created awareness on subjects like Consumer rights, and their responsibilities. We have also brought out pamphlets on adulterated consumer goods and distributed the same to the public. We have invited the staff of legal Metrology Department and they explained the people as to how the business people involve in mal-practices especially eights and measures, and how to identify these mal-practices

National Environment Awareness (NEAC) Programme

SYO has been playing an active role in NEAC since 2000. Since then we have been regularly conducting the NEAC in both urban and rural areas and doing the little possible effort in this noble cause of our nation

Our efforts are extended to 15 villages concentrating and alerting the farmers to convert solid farm wastes in to useful vermi compost, highlighting the adverse effects of chemical farming and the need to resort back to good old golden Organic Farming

For this film shows, slide shows, CD’s display, awareness campaigns are organized. Lectures from Scientists of Agriculture and Environment experts and experienced farmers are arranged. Exposure visits and cross visits interactions are arranged

Every year we approach with specific theme, this year our main theme is solid waste management with sub theme of demonstration and construction of vermi compost pit.

During these NEAC activities for this year we have invited Mr. T. Ramalingam, Rtd.JDA,as resource person and our technical coordinator explained the farmers after rally and Kalajatha as a part of NEAC, how the farmers are ruining themselves, by heavy use of chemical fertilizers and poisonous pesticides and becoming instrumental causing damage to environment and health hazards to human kind.

As a solution to solid organic farm waste, to convert into useful organic vermi compost, Mr. Ramalingam demonstrated construction of preparation of vermi bed and compost

VIKAS VAHINI Voluntary Clubs

Sarvodaya Youth organization with support of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has formed farmers groups called Vikas Vahini Volunteer Clubs with farmers in our project area viz., 5 villages of Athmakur Mandal of Warangal district. 15 farmers were grouped under each club and they were trained in various aspects like book keeping, internal lending, and organic farming methods. They were sensitized and educated about the loan facilities and credit facilities available at the banks for dairy and poultry management as supportive and alternate source of income. Meetings will be conducted in every month to maintain the communication among the member farmers and others. Regular monthly meetings were organized with the VVV club farmers and they have motivated and sensitized about the available bank loan schemes and other facilities.
